Conduit Street, London
This flagship Mayfair store was the third commission for Van Peterson and launched a wave of new outlets in Tokyo, New York, Paris and Geneva.
Its location in the heart of London’s luxury district initiated the highly finished bespoke almost tailored design.
The shop’s very modest size (30 m²) is significantly amplified through the introduction of large mirrors and a reflective stretch fabric ceiling.
A mix of rich, colourful materials - green suede, dark timber, brass and limestone - and a massive back-lit floor to ceiling marble panel were assembled to create a sense luxury and warmth.
“Gumuchdjian’s talent as a miniaturist is revealed here in the exquisite craftsmanship that echoes that of the jewellery, in the quality of light and texture and in evident pleasure in materials.”
